They’re not down yet keep kicking
#aras11
![]()
1) The Government is the YES side
2) There is a clear attempt to bury this in #aras11
- These are two referenda which give more power to the Executive,
hold the horses
3) 4° It shall be for the House or Houses concerned to determine, with
due regard to the principles of fair procedures,
- For House or Houses read Government.
The Government controls the House
Please decide if any Government who puts banks before people is fit to decide what a fair procedure is
4) “Sprinkles!”
5) There will be no banking inquiry. Do not believe the spin. There is massive pressure on the Irish Government to keep the books closed. This pressure is coming from the same people Enda Kenny will neither talk about nor stand up to.
It is their debt and their dirt on the Irish banks books.
That will not be aired in public.
6) Even without that pressure no Irish Government will target the big interests. You know that as well as I do. Any kind of sop to us will be just that. They might let Joe Higgins or whoever grill some fat cat, the people will cheer and we can all feel big sticking it to the man but that will be that. Johnny Golfcourse will still collect four pensions while you and I pay for Anglo.
7) These are politicians, POLITICIANS.
Just think about all your favourites.
Go on.
Pat Carey?
Peter Power?
John O’Donohue?
Bertie?
John Maloney?
Charlie?
Other Charlie?
Mary Harney?
Yes, I know they are all gone but this is the thing. These amendments will be here long after this crowd are gone. We have no idea what lies ahead.
All rise for Justice Adams?
Justice Boyd Barret?
Justice Ganley?
Yeah right, That will never happen.
Fianna Fáil wiped out, no seats in Dublin, not even running in the Presidential election (kinda) ?
What are the chances eh? Funny things happen in politics. Funny things happen when a country is sinking further and further. People look in funny places for leadership. They elected Enda Kenny for fuck sake but I believe Morgan Kelly when he said things will get far worse and we will long for the days of Biffo and Enda.
The inquiries referendum is open ended and we have no idea what kind of place Ireland will be. It’s already my worst nightmare and sinking fast.
8) Where is the Children’s Referendum? You remember Enda’s speech. We didn’t care about what he said, we don’t care about the Vatican’s reply. All we care about is that things change and the Irish make a start at putting our dark past right.
Still, no sign of it.
Very complicated you see, have to get the wording right.
That didn’t stop two referenda landing on our table, maybe even under the table they way it’s been managed. Two referenda squeezing the justice system and handing more power to an already too powerful executive. Look how they have got on with the power they have.
If you can get past the fact that the government of a broken country, who on the 2nd Nov is handing over a billion dollars to gamblers is holding two referenda in the interests of “fairness” and “saving money” you can vote yes with a clear conscience. If you’re still not sure we can look at the two ministers who used the words “fairness” and “saving money”. Both of these ministers have a personal interest here. Both were scolded by the Judiciary back in 2001 for holding an Oireachtas inquiry.
The reason the inquiry would still have been stopped is that the High Court uncovered a remarkable trail of inefficiency and error at the Oireachtas. On one occasion the Abbeylara committee misrepresented its terms of reference to another committee, which in turn acted on a resolution that had not been passed. Certain terms of reference of the inquiry even went missing for months and were only produced in court after some delay.
This might explain why busy ministers could make these referenda appear so fast while the rest of us and the children can wait. When things are personal they happen faster but the best care is not always taken.
Vote NO tomorrow and send them back to the drawing board. It will still be personal but let them come back with a proper proposal with concrete safeguards. Let them drop the contempt and come back with a debate.
We are promised a Constitutional Convention and a Children’s Referendum.
Let them come back then when they can show they can be trusted

Here is Enda Kenny launching the new IFSC strategy back in July. You can see our friend Dermot McCarthy in the background. He was chair of the IFSC clearing house group. Enda told us the new strategy would create 10,000 jobs. He is also telling us the 2bn raised from privatising Ireland’s assets will be spent on Jobs.
This weekend Pat Rabbitte said he hopes the troika won’t insist on the privatisation of 6bn worth and it should be spent on jobs.
Sadly the IMF are not in the business of jobs. Though they do create some from time to time. The new Viceroy has now taken up residence in the central bank. Dame St might not be the plushest of surroundings for the position. The sight of Fine Gael’s law and Order wing cracking skulls on Monday morning may be unseemly for the dignitary but as timing has it there is quite a bit of competition for the old company gaff. We haven’t seen such pointless fighting over a D8 pile for some time though it’s not much consolation to Sherry Fitzgerald. Maybe we should throw them a bone and tag Farmleigh on to the pawnbroker’s list .
Furniture not included.
From there, Lord Lieutenant Breuer could gaze out across the park and consider how best to invest in jobs for the natives, lets look at something sustainable that might give us some dignity.
Whoops! Sorry that’s Enda’s version.
No, each day would be spent in the conservatory. Red pen in hand going through his lists. Which Bondholder is next in line?
Senior unsecured, subordinated, no matter they will all be looked after. Board na Mona, that should cover three or four of them. Eirgrid and Coilte, not worth much apparently but we’ll make it stretch till Irish water is ready to go.
That is how much debt we are looking at.
We are selling parts of our island to pay it down. Not off, down.
Gay Mitchell already has four counties ear marked. China apparently are very interested to get a viewing of Cork. It’s got one of the best harbours in the world.
There will only be about twelve shades of green left under the Viceroy’s control when the vultures are finished. With those, perhaps we can start looking at people. The long long list of shite we wade through.
“Lets have a new republic” lets have a republic.
The New Era of Hypo Republic, “argentaria prius omnis” or something.
That is why the Viceroy is here, oversee the the colony in the interests of his King. He does not worry about how his subjects feed their children. He only cares they are fed enough so they may feed King Bank
Here’s one of them on the Anglo Bondholder list.

Pioneer is a wart on the Unicredit arse. The bank that will bring down Italy and the Euro. The IFSC bank with a liquidity breach of one thousand and nine-hundred per cent which Lenihan and Neary chose to ignore over fourteen months before the bank bailout.
Here is Enda back at the IFSC launch. Pioneer’s representative is among the suits on the steps behind. He sits on the clearing house group too, with Dermot. Simon Carswell asks Enda if thinks it wise to let the foxes back to regulate their own hen house.
Here is what he had to say.
Seems like our Taoiseach and Viceroy have a lot in common. At least Lord Lieutenant Breuer is honest about it.
